Maintain Your Natural Weight

Natural weight loss means lowering your daily calorie intake while increasing the amount of calories you burn through exercise; few ever listen to this suggestion. This advice should be easy to comprehend - at least you would think it was; however, currently 35 percent of Americans are unable to prevent being overweight! Of course, once you are overweight, you usually want to trim down for a whole lot of reasons, some related to health, others having to do with looks.

The strange thing is though that it is so much easier to stay trim than it is to lose weight because as soon as you start putting on weight, many things become more difficult. Nevertheless weight maintenance is something that has to be worked on and planned otherwise we will put on extra pounds.

For some reason even when dieters who have become used to, and enjoy, a low calorie diet, they eventually drift back to old habits and start piling the pounds back on again. Natural weight loss is possible though and it can be done before you get stared at in the street or cause others problems because of your weight.

Making A Great Diet Shake

Any diet to be successful calls upon you, the dieter, to arrest control of what goes into your body. In fact one of the best things about dieting besides losing weight and feeling great is the feeling that you are the boss of food, not the other way around. And since a diet shake is one of the best ways to get good nutrition into your system in a pleasing way, the more control you have over that process the better.

You can buy diet shakes in cans or have them made for you and there certainly is a thriving industry of people making lots of money off of those who don't want to make their diet shakes themselves. But there are two reasons why that is not preferable. First, making your shakes from fresh ingredients guarantees that you get nothing but the best in terms of vitamins and nutrition. And secondly, pre-made shakes, even though they say "diet" on the can often have too much sugar and other unhealthy ingredients in them to do you any good.

Of course the heart of making a great shake of any kind is owning a great blender. But with...

Body Fats Myth Debunked

There are many body fats myths out there that do not withstand the scrutiny of scientific research. Let me share with you some of these common body fats myths and hopefully we are able to put them to rest today.

You have probably heard that doing lots of aerobic exercises is great for losing fats. While aerobic exercise do help cut down on body fats, too much of it can be a bad thing. You see, too much of aerobic exercises can result in you destroying your muscles after the fats have been removed. With less muscles, your body metabolic rate naturally slows down and that means less fat burning capabilities.

Hopefully, you can see the reason why you should not exercise excessively or you could have less muscles to stimulate body metabolic rate. Without sufficient muscles, your body will not be able to burn body fat efficiently. Our advice is that you should plan your cardio exercises properly. Combine with some resistance training to get the optimal impact.

The next common myth is that muscles weigh more than fat. That is not entirely true. One pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of...

Bodyweight Training vs. Machines

A truly infected topic these days. Which is better?

Some experts say that if you want a better figure, you need to focus on doing your exercises on machines, as they allow you to add more weight and concentrate on working specific muscles as hard as you can.

I, along with many other experts, would have to disagree. Bodyweight training includes multi-joint exercises that target more than one muscle group and make your body strong and functional.

The fact that bodyweight training can be more challenging is probably a big reason why some will say that it is ineffective.

One of the best upper body exercises, and a TRUE bodyweight exercise is the pull-up.

Believe it or not, there are people who can sit on a machine or cable station and do pull-downs with hundreds of pounds attached - but they cannot do one SINGLE pull-up!

On the other hand, I don’t know anyone who can do a true pull-up, and cannot add a lot of weight when doing pull-downs.

When you try to think of a really muscular person, who comes to mind? How about gymnasts? Or military personnel?

Can...
